On Tues., Oct. 24, 2017, Neighbors for a Kinder Community will host “A Circle of Compassion” from 7 pm – 8:30 pm in the Shiras Room on the second floor of Peter White Public Library, Marquette, MI.
Participants are encouraged to take turns sharing their thoughts, ideas, stories, poems, questions, songs, and/or responses on the topic of compassion, or simply listen. All are welcome free of charge.
Neighbors for a Kinder Community are hosting this as the second of a series of events for strengthening one’s ability to implement The Kinder Community Pledge.
The Marquette, MI group created The Kinder Community Pledge in January, 2017, in response to divisiveness witnessed in our own and other communities. Recognizing a powerful opportunity to come together to build upon our community’s strengths and address its weaknesses, the group’s hope is to help others feel more inspired, committed, and capable of taking ongoing action to help create a kinder community through increased respect, compassion and courage.
You can learn more about The Kinder Community Pledge and sign it online at www.akindcommunity.org. To stay up-to-date on new resources and events for implementing the pledge, visit www.akindcommunity.org or the Kinder Community Facebook page.
